AC-30 topboost head - Which speakers?

I've been thinking of aquiring an AC-30 topboost head. One of the CC versions that people seem to like nowadays.

If I do go that route, I need to know which speakers and configurations would be best with this head? I have an open back 2x12 with G12H30's in it, which I think sound reasonably good though it might not be the speaker set of choice for many folks. Would they still sound reasonably chimey with the AC or are alnico speakers a requirement?

it would probably sound good through that cab, but i do think the celestion blues are key to the classic sound of the ac30. That said, as much as those cost, the new eminence equivilant might be a good option? I think its called teh Red Fang if i remember correctly?

Celestion Blues are the standard for that amp. IF you can't afford it, then Emminence Red Fangs are a close wnd. For me, I love G12H30's. I've also been playing my version of the 4XEL84 through a Cannabis Rex and it has sounded most excellent. That speaker just slays no matter the style or the amp I've tried it in.

The thing to remember is who do you want to sound like? Which artists whose sound you like, use/used the AC30 and with what speakers?
I know that can be kinda tough finding out now-days with so much other gear applied to guitar music.
But, think of that early Beatles sound and early British Invasion sound, ( early WHO for one) and that is AC30's and AC100's through Celestion Alnico speakers.

Peter Schilling's "Major Tom - Coming Home" is the approximate sound I'm looking for along with a little Edge from U2.

The Celestion Alnico Blue is the one to use.

They're expensive but worth it.

Celestion Greenbacks, G12H30 or Vintage 30 sound great too...but the G12 Alnico Blue sounds even better with an AC-30.

In a Marshall, I'd go with a ceramic magnet speaker like the G12H30...but in a Vox AC-30 the Alnico Blues is the one to use for the livliest and best tone, IMO.

I'm grabbing a pair of Red Fangs for my AC30CC that comes in tomorrow. The celestion blues are too rediculously priced.
