Blind Buy....

And the "Shred Berserker" version w/ Class A Pentode & my Poplar Aria Fullerton Pro II (SD 'lil 59 Neck)....

i have my first band practice this evening w the new drummer who's filling in for our next gig...so just "limbering up" & giving the nimble old digits a bit of a workout beforehand :lmao:

Volume on the amp was turned down way way low for this one...whisper/barely audible levels in the room..

Pulling the Master knob is super effective for jamming at insanely low sound levels and still getting pretty usable/sweet tones..

I read somewhere that puling it increases the preamp levels..but yeah still sounds great (and ultra tube-like) at ridiculously low levels w/e having to touch your EQ to compensate for anything :bigthumb:

Another sweet pic :bigthumb:

Line-6-DT50-Laney-IRT120.jpg

It's actually about 1/2 an inch wider than my 120 W Ironheart! ...and exactly the same height, pretty close to the same weight as well. Real fucking monster of a 50 Watter :bigthumb:

Took it over to band practice yesterday in the evening for it's customary baptism ov fire :bigthumb: They have an Ironheart 60 there that I was using before which I replaced with the DT50 -> Marshall 1960A with G12T75's

I think at about 1:00 o'clock on the master it sounded a hair louder than the Laney...can't be sure... they were close..it definitely was'nt softer.

The new drummer is a caveman ...looked like one too (ultra-long hair and Osama-type beard :lmao:) and whacked the crap out of the kit there...dude was seriously loud, but the amp was louder :D

Return of the Shred Berserker \m/ ....this time it's back to the Charvel/Custom 5 and it's w/ my other Laney 2x12 (Swamp Thang mic'd w/ a Sennhesier e906) . Whisper soft recording volume once more (Master knob pulled) :bigthumb:

Really shines at low volumes for late nite shred-o-rama, practice & recording :bigthumb:

Same thing w/ my Laney IRT120 (6L6's) which also sounds pretty sweet at super-low bedroom volumes (or any volumes :D)

Shred berserker V3 = Zero tasteful self-restraint for a more "balls-out/pedal-to-the-metal" experience :bigthumb:

I think the Line 6 could get down even lower (volume-wise) in the room than the Laney ..while still pretty much keeping it's "higher volume" tone intact..

More Shred Berserk'ing w/ my BC Rich Ironbird (EMG 89R bridge):

Amp (DT50) has "high" & "low" inputs...and I guess "low" is for active's ...but I always prefer "high" for everything w/ pretty much every amp like that I've tried (...more is more) :bigthumb:

Shifting stuff around/freeing up space for that which is to come :bigthumb:

Doomstacks-1.jpg

Shifted my CD rack to the opposite side of the room and brought the Laney camo cab that was there over to this side. I want to have as many stacks as I can available by my desk for instant jamming & recording w/o having to keep moving mic stands around and messing about mic'ing cabs across the room :p

Sadly I can't help doing that w/ my two other 4x12's (Bugera & Peavey) but at least I'm minimizing that shit this way... :bigthumb:

I've always wanted a cab w/ Greenbacks & I just came across an oddball one that called out to me .....a Laney Supergroup LA212 with 2x 'offset' G12M (25W) Greenbacks which I pulled the trigger on & I'll probably use with the Archon 50 that will go the other side of my desk.

My Randall T2 will go where the Archon was on top of the Laney Camo 4x12..cuz it currently does'nt have a cab of it's own... and then I'll pretty much be set. I'm keeping the Peavey 4x12 free for the new amp (w/e that gets here..) :bigthumb:

With my "Grote" semi-hollow (Fokin Saboteur bridge)...

I guess this would be "Shred-Berserker" classifiable too :bigthumb:

It's not too OTT speed-wise but obviously ^^ that's not tapping you'll hear from any other guitar player on the planet either (cuz "innovation" & "individuality" :lmao:) ....the closest would be buckethead's "robot-tapping" & maybe Tracy G from Dio's crazy overtone/harmonic ridden stuff (dude was actually way better in the WWIII album w/ Mandy Lion). Anyway he's alway's been my fave Dio guitarist along w/ Craig Goldy :bigthumb:

Rowan Robertson (Lock Up The Wolves) was no slouch either

..& Vivian Campbell can go **** himself haha :bigthumb:

Greenback Cab in the house & I'm loving it :bigthumb:

Archon-50-Laney-w-Greenbacks-2b.jpg

Bought it at a nearby store yesterday in the morning & it was delivered in the evening..

It pretty much sounds like a Marshall 1960 loaded w/ Greenbacks..can't even tell it's a 2x12 not a 4x12..really nice big 3D sound....

Dialed the reverb back in the DAW & adjusted the amp a bit...

Spent the morning with the amps cranked up to break the cab in...

That's always the most fun part with new speakers :D

And with Lead Ch 2 (AB Pentode) w/ The Line 6/Greenback cab....which I did spend a good part of this morning breaking in..

Looks like I'll have the new amp up on stage for the next gig after all.

I was starting to wonder about that :laugh2:

But yeah, t's finally on it's way.. :bigthumb:
