AC30CC2 2x16ohm parallel wiring

Hi there.

i own a AC30CC2 with the wharfdale(8ohm each) speakers. I can get 2 Greenbacks for a low price but they are 16ohm each so i have to wire them in parallel and set the amps switch to 8ohm right ?

but.. how do i wire the speakers in parallel in this amp? because the are two + and two - cables coming out of the amp it self... anyone can draw me a scheme ?

thanks!

Speaker A +
speaker A -

Speaker B +
Speaker B -

Wire the positive wire to speaker A +
Jumper A+ to B+

Repeat for negative

++++++++++++++++++++++
. A. B
---------------------------------------------

Thanks. But isn’t that wiring in series? And i have 4 cables.. 2x + & -

Then tape those wires off and jump as directed They will appear as a single 8 ohm speaker to your amp

IF having both connected to two 8 ohm speakers equals 16 ohm
Then those are in series
Not what you want
Your amp doesn't have a 32 ohm setting

I found this.. https://www.dropbox.com/s/l26jdkka12...%2023.jpg?dl=0

can this be helpful ?

as i look at the schematic it seems to me that the 2 middle wires are just a jumper wiring to make the series. So i can ditch those two without problems i think? And use the outer 2(pos + neg) and then wire the 2 in parallel to get 8 ohm total with the 2 16ohm speakers.

right ? Or am i seeing this wrong ?

Did you read my post?

Tape up the twp extra wires individually
not to each other
Not to each other

Tuck them up somewhere they can't be seen
Dont cut them out you may want to do something else later

Or
Just take it to a local tech let them swap it out

yeah i did. that's why i adjusted the schematic to be sure if i understood it right. so my adjusted schematic should work without any problems ? without volume/toneloss etc..

i'm new with this so maybe that's why i ask a lot to be sure. And i'm dutch so i have to read everything twice :rolleyes:

It does look correct

As far as tone and volume I am not sure
An 8 ohm V30 sounds slightly different than the 16 ohm version

And different speaker manufacturer will change the tone some what

Be sure to tape over the connectors on the spare wire as you can reverse this back to original if you don't like it
Don't tape them together

You may have to use one positive from one pair and the negative of the other pair, from what the diagram says
s
Do you have a meter?
You can check the positive from A and the negative from B to check for continuity
Once you find that one that is directly conned to the other.
That will be the series connection
That's the short wire in the center of your diagram
With the dotted lines around it

Tape both ends of that one up use the outside ones for positive and negative main connection
Then using any speaker wire connect the other speaker as we discussed

Yeah i already taped the inner 2 wires(jumper wire) with a shrink sleeve to be safe there not making contact anywhere. The outer 2 wires (+ & -) are used for the new connection.

tnx for the help
