I have an acoustic /electric guitar with Fishman IV electronics. I just purchased a Gens Benz Shenandoah Jr amp 35w. I'm getting minor string buzz and bass over tones that are annoying, no matter how I adjust the tone controls. I plugged in my Boss EQ pedal and solved the bass overtone and string buzz but have sacrificed clarity. It's now a bit of a muddy midrange tone by comparison. Not bad, but not good. Is there an inexpensive pedal or preamp designed specifically for acoustic guitar that would bring out more clarity to make the tone more true to life.

sounds like you also need a setup - no guitar should ever have string buzz ... once the buzz is out, you can return the highs ... as for the bass 'boom' i am not understanding why turning down the amp's bass control isnt helping ...
have you tried scooping out the mids a little bit? ... can often restore clarity
is your battery for the guitar fresh? .. crappy bass is a first sign of battery going low
and i heartily recommend the DTAR mama bear as a preamp for amplifying a/e guitars ... it even has a low cut filter on the input to help the bass boom

Actually, there is no buzz heard while playing acoustic, but is heard through the amp. Maybe I should try changing the battery, the battery indication light is not on.
I was looking at the DTAR mama bear yesterday and found the price near what i paid for the amp. I don't want to go more $ here unless I could find one used.
