Acoustic pickup, which ones & what are they like?

I read through the duncan site section on acoustic pickups, there seem to be a few models, some with a condenser mic built into them i think. The world of acoustic pickups is new to me, usually a mic'd acoustic is what i've been through. Anyways, some of descriptions write up said these are removable, so then one could put these on any acoustic guitar out there, sounds cool.

I don't remember anytime seeing a thread here asking about info on SD's acoustic pickup lineup lol, do the majority here that play acoustic live prefer micing them up or the preamp with eq thingy more? I'm not looking into buying one just yet, I'm just very curious about them & which ones are like the favourite C8 of the acoustic realm lol

i find that mic'ing an acoustic sounds better than any pickup but if you have any electric instrument or drums on stage its impractical do to bleed and feedback issues not to mention keeping a consistent volume level. i use a duncan magmic and it sounds great. i use a fishman loudbox amp and have a lr baggs para-acoustic DI that also works well. i used to have a sunrise pup and liked that very much too. the woody line of pups is fine for what they are and work well and i used to have a dimarzio elemental which was decent as well
