My Dad just bought me a 12 string for christmas and i wanted to add a soundhole p/ups (after i change the string andget it set up)
I want to keep the bright chimy sound of the 12 but i don't want it to be harsh i was thinking about the Seymour Duncan Single Coil Soundhole pickup but i want some other suggestions first so if anyone has any good info please chime in???

Re: Acoustic Pickup

anyone please i need to get a p/up soon and i don't want to have much hassle installing it.

Re: Acoustic Pickup

I like the Acoustic Tube. It's reasonablyrealistic to the acoustic sound, is a humbucking stack, and has a built in volume control.

Re: Acoustic Pickup

do u know the price american, is alot more then the Seymour Duncan SINGLE COIL soundhole p/up

Re: Acoustic Pickup

Another vote for the tube. I haven't listened to the newer stuff, like pickups with mics built in, etc - so I'd listen to those if you can. But of all the older style purely magnetic soundhole pups I tried (basically all the ones I could find for <$100), the tube was the best sounding.

Re: Acoustic Pickup

um i don't know how the tube is but i found a pretty good pickup, the seymour duncan woody hum cancelling

Re: Acoustic Pickup

I agree that soundboard pickups sound more natural, but he was asking specifically about soundhole types. I have a PUTW 54 in my Breedlove.

does the tube work with broze strings
The SA-1 Acoustic Tube is optimised for bronze strings. As passive soundhole pickups go, it's very warm and natural. Though the SA-6 Mag Mic is much better -- but more than twice the price.

Re: Acoustic Pickup

I really looking for cheap pickups that don't need any modification to the guitar and sound pretty natural. Also i need to get them sent to australia so Stewmac is really the only place that i can buy them from.
Will the acoustic tube retain the natural highs from my 12 string?
