Active / passive switch

I have installed the preamp only from the Basslines STC-2p circuit into a Fender Marcus Miller 4 string bass. I have left the original active/passive switch in, but when I switch from passive to active, I get a loud POP sound when the preamp is engaged. What can I do to eliminate this sound? Any suggestions?

hmm, not sure ... it might have to do with the mismatch of components if that preamp was designed to be used with the basslines pups ... does it happen if you turn the volume down first?

can you link to a schematic that shows what you did? that might help us find a casue/solution ...

also, is the battery somehow isolated from the output? wouldnt want to put some DC on the output signal headed for your amp ...

Yeah the sound is there even if i turn down the two volumes before engaging the switch. Potentiometers are both 250K and both bass and treble boost pots are 100K just as is recommended.

I have a wiring diagram but the file size appears to be too large to upload.

I don't understand what you mean by the battery being isolated. The battery is fitted in to it's own compartment though.
