Hey man, when you buy a guitar with active pickups from the store brand new, should you change the batteries?? or shud you play it till they die down a bit???

Re: Active Pickups

if they work, dont change them. if the sound starts to become "disfigured", so to speak, change them.

Re: Active Pickups

how do i kno when the sound is disfigured, im unsure half the time, shud i just shove new batteries in and see if they sound better, and if not put the old ones back in?

Re: Active Pickups

You'll know when the sound is stuffed, it'll sound really really crap!

If you're really paranoid about it then a new battery wont cost you much anyway, just a bit of a waste if your current ones are fine.

Re: Active Pickups

Make it easy on yourself, go buy a battery tester and toss it in with the rest of your guitar mantinance stuff.

Re: Active Pickups
