Adding a new meaning to floating bridge

Seems unbelievably dangerous. Magnets that powerful pulling together right near where your picking hand is resting? Yikes.

Hah. I like that he basically reinvented the floyd fine tuner string adjustment system.

Should end the tonewood argument at least. The bridge isn't attached to the guitar at all and it still sounds like an electric guitar.

Speaking of tonewood, imagine that thing with both the bridge and the nut detached, magnets at both ends.

That would wreak havoc on the pickup magnet if it weren't ceramic...
I won't nerd out here, but the fact that magnets strength drops off based off the cube of the distance is crazy to me. This means that if you measure the magnetic pull of it 1 inch away versus 8 inches away (where the pickup seems to be) it has roughly 1/512th the strength

True. But with a field that strong it might make a difference. Even a small neo mag can change the sound of an alnico pickup in mere seconds from several inches away. I've done quick & dirty degaussing/regaussing that way, a trick I learned on this forum I think, from Zhang.

ive used neo mags for charging and more subtle manipulation before as well. even a 1" bar is surprisingly strong
