Adjusting the hidden screwed poles in a Fender MIM wide range..

I was thinking, It took Fender over 40 years to get back to where they were in the 70s. The wide range was discontinued in '79-80, it didn't re emerge until 1999 and that was the MIM bar magnet model. It took another 20 years for them to make it to original spec. along with original spec Tele Custom & Deluxe. Keith Richards had a Tele Custom in the early to mid 80s but never seen him with one since. It was suggested CuNIFE was hard to source, but I think they wanted to wait for the right moment. It's still not as common as the standard H/B ..seems to go in and out of fashion

AFAIK, CuNiFe WAS effectively hard to source. Testimonial from the horse's mouth ("cermag" being a supplier of magnets):

Regarding Fender and the WR, I've no opinion. I just see that availability and "hype" go up and down with many products from other big names, as does their degree of faithfullness to original designs.

Last but not least, I'm not in conspiracy theories. There's a self-proclaimed pickups guru on the web who treats all winders as ignorant and greedy snake-oil sellers. For me, this idea clouds his scientific objectivity, inspiring him what I consider as wrong interpretations.

I managed to slide it and pickguard under the slackened strings. Those threaded poles underneath would be the passive ones. I've seen videos on You tube that showed quite clearly that The WR with the Cunife rod magnets can sound the same as a PAF style HB on a Les Paul. Other factors being the scale length between Gibson & Fender. WRHB's with the bar magnet can also sound as good as the ones with Rod magnets. It proves there was never anything dramatically different in the sound of the Wide range which was discontinued by Fender for about 10 years. It was brought back in 1999 , but it still divides opinion...

You're way off on this one, my man.
