Advice for a friend: amp

My friend has a basic les paul and likes to play some country and classic rock. he is selling his half stack for like $350 hopefully (hughes ketner warp 7) and is going to use this money to get a tube amp to play those styles.

I was wondering what you'd recommend? He likes my crate v30 but would probably get the v15 because it is too loud for apartment/house use we have concluded, so another option would be like a peavey valve amp or basic fender one?

What would you recommend for around that much?

Re: Advice for a friend: amp

i'd stick to the Palomin 32 watter. I don't like the cleans (for country at least) that I've gotten from either the V15 or the Blues Jr.

I was impressed with the V's but I have owned the Blues Jr - both are good. I prefer the Fender. Your "friend" might feel the same.

Tell your "friend" I said that.

For country it's hard to beat the Fender Blues Jr.... and I own a Crate V32 Palomino! I think both options are better than the Peavey Classics every other country player out there uses (can't stand 'em).
