Advice Needed for Neck Pickup

Hello All:

First time poster to this forum, seeking some advice for a neck pickup for my Ibanez RG520. I have an Invader in the bridge and looking to replace the stock Ibanez V7. This guitar is built for rock/metal and Im looking for a nice warm tone, not muddy.

Any advice is appreciated.

Watch as people start saying the 59...

I have a dimazrio PAF7 (dimarzio's PAF model with a ceramic mag), I like it much better in the neck than the bridge but it's a good pickup. Bright, not muddy, but an alnico mag like the 59 would probably be even better. The highs on mine can become britle in certain situations.

I will not say the 59 but, I will say the alnico II pro!!!!!! Very smooth and warm, no mud either!!!

Re: Advice Needed for Neck Pickup

i have the following pickups in my ibanez guitars (neck):

*SZ320: Alnico II Pro
*RG1550: Distortion
*S540: Full Shred

the FS delivers loads of clarity, easily my fav duncan neck unit. the Distortion would be the FS's closest rival but the top end isn't as polished. for your tone, the AIIP is highly recommended- singing clean/ drive tones :)

I'd say the full shred as well. It's one of my favorite pups for the neck position.
