Aged Covers on Classic Stack PLus

I am convinced that the new classic stack plus pickups will give me the sound I want without the hum.

However, I play a Classic 60's strat and want aged covers. Can I use use my existing covers and simply swap them onto the Classic Stacks?

Re: Aged Covers on Classic Stack PLus

I'm not 100% sure...but I THINK that the covers might not be removable on the classic stacks. Kindof a bummer there...they are a bit taller than a standard single coil.

Re: Aged Covers on Classic Stack PLus

The pickup is super-glued into the cover during manufacturing, so unfortunately, it can't be removed.

However, if you wanted to order one from the custom shop, they could age the cover and then install it during the manufacturing process. I think. Check with MJ to be sure.

I emailed mj last week but no response. How much do pickups cost from the custom shop?

MJ gets hundreds of emails a week, give her some time...I have delt with MJ several times and she always gets back to me and gets me exactally what I want! As for the price it depends on the pickup.

Re: Aged Covers on Classic Stack PLus

I'm in the process of ageing covers, that's why I have not responded to the email not until I have a definite answer, which will be by tomorrow afternoon.

Re: Aged Covers on Classic Stack PLus

Hey guys, just an update on this, the Aging will look more like the antiquity, and less like a classic/cream colourd pup? Can anyone get me a pic to what they look like? I think in my mind i'm way off. I think i'm after classic cream colour for my old strat

Re: Aged Covers on Classic Stack PLus

Found the colour i'm looking for like the Fender Original 57/62 pickup , cream? Vintage Cream?
