Agile Cool Cat

Just bought a AS820 Cool Cat (floating bridge) and I'm having some problems getting it setup. The guitar is drop dead gorgeous but has some setup issues. First of all the guitar came with 9 gauge strings. A jazz guitar with 9 gauge? :smack: Anyway the nut and bridge are cut for a much bigger gauge. I had a set of 10 gauge GHS boomers and tried them. It helped but I'm still getting the buzzing and sitar effect. I really think this guitar is a keeper if I can get the buzzing out. I've tried tuss and bridge adjustments with only some luck.

What type and gauge of string works well on a Jazz box guitar? The thought about getting some flatwound 12 gauge and trying them? I use 12gauge Martins on my acoustic and love the stiff feel.

Thanks
Pepi

Re: Agile Cool Cat

the stiff feel on an accoustic doesn't translate well over to electrics. I'd suggestraising the bridge some.

Tell that to SRV :laugh2: His string setup were huge...

Re: Agile Cool Cat

I've had 12's on an electric, didn't feel good. It felt like I was playing a tree
but, if you like it, more power to you.
