Agile Les Paul 3100 for clean?

There's one being sold in San Antonio and I was thinking of picking it up but I want to know how well will it play cleaner styles like Blues and Country with a good deal of finger-picking? (I usually play with a pick but only use it on the bass strings and for chords)

Most of the reviews I've seen say to play high gain with them and if so, I'll just keep my Washburn around for that.

Would I be able to swap out the electronics for something a bit nicer?

Agile users chime in! :)

Thats me. Call me, I'll work something out with you on the price. I can also give you a PAF instead of the Tone Zone..might get a littel sweeter ( but brighter and thinner) highs. Play it, decide for yourself.
Its got decent bridge cleans, as good as the Tone Zone gets, but the Air Zone neck gives up the goods pretty well.
That said,. under gain IS truly where this shines.. this is quite amazing for the price with said pickups
Open to trades also.
The link I have in that ad is farily representative of what you'll get with the guitar as far as cleans;

Figured it was you. I think you've posted the same ad months before and then you withdrew it.
I'm broke as all hell right now and rent's due next week, so this would've been a December purchase. OTOH, I've got an Ibanez RG4EX1 in Trans Black with SD Jazz and JBs in it, I could throw cash on top of that if you were interested.

Re: Agile Les Paul 3100 for clean?

I believe I owned that guitar before MM :)
It's got a nice brightness with PAFs and I think the ebony board has a bit to do with that. It's got the "wide profile" neck which I find just a bit more like a 50s carve than agiles thinner c shape.

It's good with high output pickups to give it some low mids but I thought it sounded great with a pearly gates bridge.

anyways, thumbs up if that's the guitar I think it is! and yer I think that clip is pretty accurate of what to expect with the controls on 10

I'm not sure what you'd consider valuable, but if hasn't sold before I've got some decent cash saved up I'll give you a call.

So if that's on 10, I could roll back a little to smooth out the tone?
I've been listening to a lot of Keith Urban and I've picked that up from a lot of his clean songs especially on his Strat.

yeah I think it'll work best with alnico II paf-ish pickups and a little tone and volume rolloff, and pure nickel strings go well with that too. The guitar sustains fine and is a healthy 10 lbs so after that it up to you if you wanna get smoother.

I feel a bit weird because now I have a chambered les paul and I miss the snap that the agile had.

420 seems VERY reasonable :smokin:

here's a pic of the top if that's indeed the guitar

Now that you mention it..I do believe i bought it form you here. Ive dealt so much gear, I can't remember..its been awhile, but yes, this is the guitar! Do you remember sending it to South Texas??
It looks identical. I'm 99% positive tis the same guitar!
