AH1-B/ Metal Fatigue question.

The custom shop AH1-B (aka Metal Fatigue) trembucker has a double row of adjustable pole-pieces. No cover.

Normally I'd place the adjustable poles (active) closest to the bridge, but I can't tell which is the active coil and which is the slug coil!

All I've got to go on are the two small holes on the top plate through which the copper windings are visible. Should I orient them toward the bass side or the treble (vol pot) side of the body?

Apparently, this model hosts symetrical North/South coils with the same screw poles so the direction shouldn't matter. But normally (and logically), a bridge pickup is installed with its output cable toward the electrical cavity.

Yes, with symmetrical coils (and double screws) it really shouldn't matter- it will sound the same either way. This is a cool pickup! But very different to what Allan favored later in his career.
