There is no way that isn't a LP. .................................................. .....

If it was a Howard Roberts Fusion, like in the video, it is pretty close to an LP. It is semi hollow with a mahogany block in the middle. It sounds like an LP with a little more air in there. I know, 'cause I have one made the same year as his.

Cool, thanks. Now I have to watch the video.

I thought the blonde was an ES-355 (has the Custom neck) used since the first album, and the Howard Roberts was the guitar used on Tom Sawyer / Moving Pictures?

I know around Moving Pictures, all actual live pics I had seen of Alex had the HR Fusion. He probably sold more of them than Howard Roberts did.

Love his Howard Roberts Fusion. It looks so much different than others of that same model that I have seen. Wish he would have used it longer, but in the 80s, semi-hollowbodies kind of fell out of favor for most rockers.

His must be a Custom...mine looks like the other stock ones from that year. And his was available to purchase, too!

Here is his:

Maybe he just told Gibson he wanted cream mounting rings and a cream pickguard. At that stage of his career, I think Gibson would have accommodated him. I don't know what is in between the bridge and tailpiece.

I am not sure what that is, either, but it isn't on the pics from the 80s...he may have added it later. Maybe it is a plate to cover up some hacking he did to it. Also, I don't think his sunburst (with added yellow) was a common thing for HR Fusions of the time.

Looks like a Kahler route ?!?

I doubt it was a Floyd...if it was a trem, it would have to be mountable on the top without hacking out too much of the center block.

Probably a Kahler then. In those days, Floyd and Kahler were pretty much neck-in-neck competition with each other.
