Alternative 8 with an alnico 2 magnet

Anyone swap swap out the alnico 8 for an alnico 2?

That's interesting. I'm not sure how powerful the wind is on it's own. The magnet seems to add some power to that, so you may end up with essentially a sh-11

With an alnico magmet it will be the TB11 " custom-custom" that Van Halen used to play with .

Wrong.

The Alternative 8 is not a Custom with an A8 magnet.

While resistance isn't a perfect indicator of output, it does tell you how much wire is on the bobbin. The Alt 8 measures at over 17k, with the Custom series measuring in the mid 14k range.

I know it's not a custom 8, but it may be close I suppose is what I'm saying.

My mistake , I just confused with the crazy 8 or custom 8 .
So with such a high dc resistance , with A2 or A5 the alternative 8 would be very mushy I imagine .
