Alternative to Custom 5 and 498t

Hello,

I'm looking at reasonably priced alternatives to these for my Gibson Explorer and V, as I want to change out my 500t'
I play Space/Stoner Rock in E standard, Drop D and C standard.

I use Marshall and Orange amps. Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

What do you not like about what you have and what are you looking for out of the pickups

I would suggest the Dimebucker or Black WInter both respond well to dropped tunings.

I love those pickups just looking at alternatives as have difficulty picking them up on the used market at the moment.

Ahhh ok. My go to is the Dostortion then, and as Securb said, Black Winter may be a good option

I love the JB/Jazz set I put them in everything

I have even got a couple chinese knockoff sets to try out

A JB & Jazz as well as a 59 set are among the most common used sets you can find. Either should do what you want.
