Alternative to Wampler Plexi-Drive Deluxe Overdrive Pedal

I'm looking for a 2 ch drive pedal that works like the Xotic ac rc, but sounds like the Wampler...

What I want is a single pedal that has 2 sounds with independent gains and vol
1. Slightly overdriven SRVish tone

2. Full-blown singing distortion, ie Cliffs of Doverish

The Wampler has the sounds but the 2 buttons share the same vol, so I can't dial in and balance the 2 separate tones.

The Xotic works great, but the tones are less authentic to my ear.

Open to any ideas other than multiple pedals...

Keeley D&M Drive? Basically sounds like a Klon and a TS in a dual footswitch box.

IMHO there is no substitute for Wampler's however the Plexi-Tone is in the same ballpark I suppose?

Personally I'd second the motion to have Brian build you a custom stomp box. He's a great guy & fairly easy to get ahold of/work with. I had him house a Clarksdale & Pinnacle in the same box a few years back & it turned out fantastic!!!!

How are you using the Plexidrive Deluxe? (What are your settings to get the tones you want)

EQ had a slight mid boost, bright and bass were switched on
Gain at 10oclock
Left Vol at 10oclock
Boost at 11

If I remember correctly, left/blue channel gave me light crunch and red/right pushed into the heavy overdrive I'm looking for- But considering the red side is a boost without it's own vol, the red side was much louder than the blue side and I need them at about the same level.

Ok, I can see the issue. The boost on the Plexidrive Deluxe is basically a Tube Screamer with the Boost knob controlling overall level. With the core Plexidrive circuit set with lower gain, extra boost will increase the overall level. Try boosting the Plexidrive with a Tube Screamer. If you can get a setting that works, maybe the boost circuit can be modified for that gain/volume setting.

I'm still in the honeymoon phase with my Lovepedal Vintage/Modern but I think it it might be a good fit here.

It's a COT50 (with volume control in addition to gain) on one side, and a Purple Plexi on the other side. Each one a great pedal in its own right. They can be used individually or stacked, and they stack very nicely. Not a lot of EQ shaping available but the two drive tones already are exactly where they should be.

The Church Of Tone has a great natural drive sound of its own, very amplike and much more personality than a clean boost. This version has a volume knob so it's controllable. The drawback with the regular COT is that it only has a drive knob so many use it as an always-on pedal. Not so with this one.

The Purple Plexi is quite highly regarded as MIABs go. Very good sound- it deserves its good reputation. Classic midrange texture and great touch response. No controls for shaping mids or bass response but IMO it doesn't need them: the core tone is lovely, pure raw Marshall.

Both circuits have excellent interactivity with the guitar's volume knob. For an old tube amp user like me, it feels very natural.

Lots of reviews and commentary about each of these pedals on the Web if you want to read up about them. And there's an upside to the simplicity of the controls: no time spent trying to find the sweet spot. People comment again and again that it's hard to get a bad sound out of either of these. IMO they're right.

Yep, controls look perfect.. much appreciated!

Now how can I compare all of the pedals on this thread? Quite a 1st world problem, but I'm a patient guy.
