Alternatives to LP-style Vol/Vol/Tone/Tone controls

Now that I have a PRS Singlecut on order, it's a good time to consider my options.

I don't much care for the LP-style 2 vol/2 tone setup. Though I like the ability to independently adjust the volume for each pickup, I'm awfully accustomed to having a "master" volume. Also, the knob placement on the Singlecut is perfect for a master volume.

When I had a Tremonti SE, I rewired things so I had a master volume, neck volume, and two tone controls. Though I was pretty happy with that arrangement, I wonder what other alternatives y'all might have tried.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Alternatives to LP-style Vol/Vol/Tone/Tone controls

i wired my tone knobs to be coil taps on my LP. theres a schematic at the SD web site on how to do this.ive only had it for about a week but its been pretty fun to mess with so far.the tone knobs when at 0 is full split and when at 10 its a full humbucker so youve got alot of options.

I actually like the Vol/Vol/Tone/Tone, but have you considered a Vol/Blend setup? I wonder if you could get a Bridge/Blend Pot/Neck out of a three way, that would be pretty cool. Also, if you only use a master tone, you could put one of these in the other tone pot position:
