Alternatives to PRS [pics]

I'm just adding to the onslaught of PRS threads...

Name some guitars that are similar to PRS guitars. This is for anyone that doesn't want a PRS, but for whatever reason would still like a guitar that looks similar. Be sure to only post pics of similar styles, not just any regular double cutaways (i.e: no shred guitars, strats, Gibson doublecuts, etc).

Re: Alternatives to PRS [pics]

I tell ya what I handled the first two on your "list" there 2 weekends ago....

That Baker, love Mr. roman or not, is an EXTREMELY impressive instrument for the $. I've never seen ANYTHING out of Korea that nice before...def right up there in quality with the best Japanese stuff. I won't say it had the gorgeous woods, high quality electronics and solid feel of an American axe, but it had everything else. I mean that SOB was a PLAYER, and was TIGHT. No real flaws I could find in build..nut and frets were perfect, finish was perfect.

The USA Hardtail was def one of the best axes I've EVER handled...regardless of brand or where it was made. It was absolutely flawless, gorgeous, resonant, extremely toneful, and played as good as anything I've ever had in my hands. It was everything I could do NOT to pull out the plastic. Especially cos it was *BARELY* used and the price was the same as a brand new SG standard. I'd buy one of them over a PRS without hesitation. I think the only thing that would have made it perfect (for me) would be a rosewood board. I would have preferred a diff color too.

The carvin CT6 is a great option for those who want a PRS type guitar. Just switch out the pickups for a Custom Custom and a Alnico II Pro and your set.
