Always-on Pedals. Do you really have them? Really?

I'm not talking about a wireless receiver or a buffer or an amp-modeling pedal. What do you have that you have on literally all the time you're playing?

Honestly, I don't. I like the natural sound from the amp, so I occasionally alter that with pedals, but lots of the time, it is nothing between the guitar and amp.

No always on pedal here either, but I have the BOSS MS-3 always on for channel switching, does it count?

Most of the sounds I like can come from the amp. I use pedals to make my amp sound like a different amp usually

My MOOG Delay is always on.

I use a Koko Boost as an always on pedal into my Victory Sheriif 44.
The amp simply needs help to achieve decent gain.
The switchable added mids are to emulate an EMG SPC which I removed from my guitars due to hum.

If I use an AIB pedal, like the RambleFX Marvel Drive or Carl Martin PlexiTone, or Wampler ThirtySomething, then it's always on. These days I'm using a Zoom MS-50G which is always on and providing both amp tone and reverb all the time.

i dont have any always on pedals. some times, i dont use any pedals at all

Since I’m mostly recording, I always have 2/1 compression, and add 6dB of mids at 1Khz - before going into the computer.
My practice amp has Joe Meeks on its loop that do the same job, and they’re always on.

I guess in this regard my Surfybear is always on into my practice amp. I mostly use it as a clean boost unless I'm getting surfy

If I play my Strat, I do use the Pickup Booster on the whole time.

For guitar, no pedal is always on for me. However, my Cali76 compressor is always on for bass.

My EHX East River drive is always on.
My ISP Noise gate is always on.


At practice:
My other EHX East River drive is always on.
My Donner Noise killer is always on.

At one point I was using a BD-2 as an always on pedal and just rolling the guitar volume up or down for clean or dirty. No always on stuff currently though.

Since I don't use anymore amp at high volume level, even when playing live, I have my Timmy almost always on with my beefed up princeton, with little gain, and a klon to boost it when needed

I find I'm never playing without any pedals, but no single pedal is always on. For cleans, I'm going to have delay and/or chorus, and for dirt, I'm getting that from a distortion box or overdrive pedal. My amp is set as a clean pedal platform.
