Am i going back to metal?!?

Well... i think i am slowly turning back into a metalhead lol, I realized this while i was playing Into The Void - Black Sabbath, which is one of the greatest songs ever... Anyways, maybe i am not becoming a metal head again, maybe i just want to play sabbath... All the time..., anyways can anyone recommend some bands anything like sabbath?.

Sounds to me like your trying to score some points with the older dudes.

BTW you know damn well whats out there. You have a computer for 1 and 2 Metal is in it's best state right now than it was 10 years ago.

Close to sabbath...

Pick up Corrosion of Conformitys In the Arms of God...came out tuesday brand new. It's probably a 9.5 out of 10 in my book..

Then Go look for a band called Down. 1st c.d

Then you would be on the right path.

I agree you have not lived long enough to start disliking anything really. cause all the new stuff was influence by old sckool music like Sabbath

Sabbath has stood the test of time. They're not a trend so don't feel bad about liking them.

As for Sabbath-like bands, hunt down some stuff from Trouble. They're an 80's - 90's metal band who was heavily influenced by Sabbath and 60's - 70's rock and gave it their unique stamp. Rumor has it they're in the process of making another album but in the meantime you can download some MP3s from their site here. Make sure you check out their remake of Come Together or their awesome version of Cream's Tales of Brave Ulysses. Great stuff!

look, but some of you guys are taking this wrong, i have always been a huge sabbath fan, but now i mostly listen to classic rock, and i am just realizing that maybe metal is the best thing for me, well not so much metal as a whole, more like the sabbath-esque stuff.

1st thing is, i am not trying to be trendy, i HATE trends.
and 2nd i dont like to download music, i base all of my CD purchases by either seeing the band or looking on there websites.

Im talking about your trendiness to BAG on metal. Why all the sudden you don't like metal anymore...then comeback? BTW Black Sabbath is AWESOME, I just can't believe that you don't know of any other metal bands out there......considering there are WAY more assesable bands out there.(WITH STUPID MARKETING TRYIN TO SELL YOU CRAP)

From what I gather your young and listening to a band like Govt Mule...which kick ass but it's certainly not a band someone your age would even hear of unless you knew some older CATS...To show you the ropes. Again if you like metal don't NOT like it because IT'S trendy NOT TO LIKE IT! Now someone please tell me where you got SABBATH is TRENDY before I have anuerism(however you spell it).

BTW...+1 on Trouble is a good start too.

i have heard of Cathedral before, never had a chance to check em out, i have heard of candlemass before(i know they werern't mentioned but i heard something about them being sabbath-y before) but i wasn't diggin em before, but i will try candlemass again... anymore recommendations?

Hmm....Early Cathedral and Candlemass....are considered DOOM.

Really foreboding slow stuff ala the song black sabbath.

Im waiting for ex250 to fill you in on COC they are awesome Sabbath influenced metal.

What do you say 250?..........

The trouble link I included above IS their official website and the MP3's offered there are legal as they're "leftovers" that I don't think are even available for purchase on any albums anymore. Try it, you'll like it.

And yep, Candlemass has a Sabbathy flavor to it.

You may want to check out Type O Negative as well. They've taken it in a Goth direction but very worthy of a listen. Especially Bloody Kisses or October Rust.

A little different direction but you may be interested in some old Deep Purple as well. They were probably the closest thing to Sabbath while Sabbath was still Sabbath.

i listen to older deep purple all the time :headbang:, and i downloaded those Trouble songs, there not too bad... the cream cover was pretty cool though.
