Just picked up a Traynor YCX112 cab at the local pawn shop for $120CAN. These typically sell for close to $300 when bought new. Solid birch plywood, closed back with Celestion 70/80. The stock Celestion Rocket 50 in my Laney had a flubby bottom end. I got decent tones with it, but the cab is so much better. Bigger, more defined and tighter low end. First time in years that it felt my amp shake the floor...and that was only in 3/4 watt mode at half volume.

The Laney cab would probably sound fine too with a speaker change. I can't recommend the Rocket 50 for anything. It leaves you with MANY possibilities for a viable upgrade. If you want it to have a thick low end - Eminence Swamp Thang or Cannabis Rex.

Gah I lust for a burgundy cab so bad.

I was actually just recently looking at Traynor 2x12s, of the vertical variety.

I think the only 2x12 they make right now are the vertical and the dark horse cab. Both only in black
