I have that same guitar (but blue) and I asked a similar question on another board a couple years ago. I was mostly looking for a HB replacement as I'm pretty happy with the singles.

What I learned was that existing DH-1 pickup has specs that are almost identical to a Duncan JB so replacing it with a JB may not do much for you. In the end I decided to leave mine stock. The S-1 switching, while a bit complex for my simple mind to grasp always, offers a big range of tones and I can usually find something to fit my needs.

Well I have elected to do the same thing and leave the stocks in there I did find your posts on the DH-1 being basically the same as a JB through thread search, so you helped me out and did not even know it.

Cool, glad I could help. Another reason I decided to stick with stock was I'm told that the S-1 switching is a mess of wire spaghetti. I've also heard reports that, while it's technically possible to keep it, many folks who have replaced their pickups lose their S-1 switching. Probably has more to do with techs not understanding the wiring instead of any technical reasons.

I was surprised to hear they dumped the colors on those Strats a couple years ago only offering the "wood" colors now. Mine's a 2004 model, the year they debuted so I was lucky enough to get the 50th anniversary neck plate in addition to what is now an uncommon color.
