American Strat Owners:

I have a question about how the american strats are routed: On an American Series Strat with 3 single coils, is it routed for 3 single coils, or for hsh? thanks

Re: American Strat Owners:

Starting in 2000 or 2001 (can't remember exactly) the American standards were routed HSH. The vintage reissues are usually period correct to S/S/S. The Highway 1's are speced out at H/S/H according to the website, but my 2003 is actually H/S/S.

Is yours an Am Standard, Deluxe? Give me a little more info and I can find out for you.

Re: American Strat Owners:

mine was a swimming pool. Mine's (use to be) an American Texas Special Fat Strat.

Re: American Strat Owners:

I have an American Standard built in '01 and it's supposed to have the H-S-H routing, but I'll find out in the next few days when I install new pickups in it.
Fender seems to be slightly inconsistent in the way they produce guitars during certain years, so sometimes it's hard to tell what you have until you open it up.

Re: American Strat Owners:

My 2 Americans are HSH while my Highway 1 is HSS

Re: American Strat Owners:

my American has HSH but the route is too shallow for traditional long-leg pickups (eg, 59). Short-leg humbuckers (including trembuckers) would have no problem.
