I was playing a Gibson Flying V through a Tubemeister 18 once and was getting some serious Rush/Alex Lifeson tones with it. Excellent amp.

If you're only looking for "clean to light/mid breakup" tones then why bother with a channel switcher? The Blues Junior is great for the money, but there are some really good amps out there that beat it like Tungsten, Victoria, Revival, Magnatone, etc... They're more expensive but every now and then you com across a great deal. Have you looked into Supro? They're reasonably priced. I think if you're going to go the affordable route, then get the Blues Jr. If you hold out and save a little more, you could find a better amp.

Dood... Just let it go... He already bought it...

Pierre - tell me WHY the Vox WON'T work? Not why you want some glowing bottles. Why the Vox is no good? Amp that small for gig? Yeah - I know they can get loud. STill….

And I do not agree that the Blues Jr. can't do light breakup. I think it EXCELS at that! Check the knob settings bro.

Finally - I say just get a decent single channel and hit it with a box. My Pro Jr. is awesome at that.

Egnater Tweaker? I was down to the H&K or this for a small tube head/combo. Give it a google.

I was gonna suggest this as well. I have a tweaker and its a real nice amp. A nice clean and very good/versitile gain tone. (tones) I put El34s in mine to try em and it sounds cool that way too, but kinda takes some of the versatility away.
Another suggestion no one has mentioned. PV Classic 30. Has a very good clean tone and nice gain too. When I bought my PV, I was almost ready to get the Fender Blues JR, but when I tested it at the shop, it was VERY noisey. I think the issue was grounding in the shop, but.... The Classic 30 was quieter, cost less and IMO had better reverb.
I also LOVE the Tubemiester. Really wanted an 18but was holding out for the 36. NOW, I want a grandmiester..

EDIT: If Id have read down ONE more post, id have seen where you bought one. Ill leave my above post for anyone else that may be looking..

Enjoy the TM! They are killer!
