There was a recent thread discussing vinyl cabinet covers potentially trapping moisture. I mentioned that I used large sheets to cover my amps and cabinets (mainly to keep the cat from tearing up the grill cloth and tolex, but also to keep dust off). The sheets are kind of pain in the a** so with that and that recent thread I started looking for cheap alternatives. I found these large covers made for protecting Washers/Dryers/Ranges during moving. I bought two of them. They are quilted and heavy, like moving blankets. They do breath some, so they shouldn't trap moisture as readily as a vinyl cover. They are oversized so they aren't a thing of beauty but they get the job done (and I don't have to mess with tucking multiple sheets). Just pull them off and pop them back on. I have one covering a 4X12 with a head up top. And another covering a 4x12 with a 2X12 on top of that and a head on top of the 2X12. It doesn't quite reach the floor on that one but it's close.
At any rate, they are cheap at $21 each from MCM electronics. I found a coupon code online for 10% off. Shipping was 8 bucks I think. One warning though, they have a musty smell like they've been boxed up in a hot warehouse. Probably because they have been. I heard them laughing at the Fabreze while I was spraying it. So for anyone interested ...
