i seem to remember reading about an amp company where they hosted an amp building days. Show up, pay some money and they walk you through building an amp. I can't remember what the company was. Do you know who does that? Do you get a decent amp from that experience?

Any of you's guys e'r done that kinda thing?

Re: Amp Camp?

I've never heard of that, but if you come over to my garage I'll walk ya through it.

There's a long list of needed class supplies, though.

Better still, I highly recommend AX84.com and 18Watt.com if you want to learn how to build an amp.

Re: Amp Camp?

next time Philly is on my route I'll hold you to that offer:)

Re: Amp Camp?

It's Gerald Weber and Kendrick Amps. he has a traveling road show where he spends a day in several large towns across the country each year. These are info only, not actual working on amps.

Near Austin, Kendrick has their factory/building. For the Amp "Camp" the week in Austin, you can actually bring in amp stuff to work on.

I've thought about going in the past, but it is very pricey. Also, he counts on students sending in what they want to work on/learn. Not too much structure looking at it from the outside.

Yes, I'm a Philadelphian, but presently residing in the great state o' Texas.

Livin' in texas is a good way to raise your stature...boots and a Stetson will do it.

I can relate to Texan much better than a philly, but I'm sure we'd get along just fine on an amp build project.
