Amp recording tips for recording a brighter tone

Volume and mic placement are what I would say needs to be addressed first. You would be amazed at how some very subtle movements can really effect the sound.
 
It definitely seems like a taste thing because relatively speaking, I can't hear a thing wrong with it. If I were asked to use that sound as captured on a project, I'd have no problem getting it to sound good on a final product.
 
This sound is definitely bright enough. They're probably just not the bright frequencies you're listening for. This is more fizzy, sounds like it needs a cut around 4 or 5k, maybe slight mid boost around 1k or 2k to fill it out Add some compression and reverb and you've got a great sound here. If a guitar doesn't sound bright enough for me, I usually add some 8k and it comes alive.
