I have an F-50 and really like it.
Fantastic clean channel and a flexible drive channel. My only gripes? It can get buzzy fairly quickly if you overly crank the gain control (but then it is a Mesa) and I can't really find a use for the drive channel in normal mode. Some people say it's slightly marshall-ish in character but I don't hear it, so I set mine up with the contour on all the time.

I have an F-50 Combo. Fantastic all around amp
Best clean tone from a Boogie I've heard and a very good distortion tone
I use it to cover from Country to Classic Rock
Real tubes=real tone
Oh and the reverb is pretty good , not Fender good, but pretty good

Well I have had the Line6 Duoverb HD for a few weeks now and I am a bit underwhelmed. At first I was so impressed by what it could do that I was blown away but once I went to make it do what I needed I was a bit let down. Through my 2x12 with Greenbacks it sounds a bit better than pushing my (2) Peavey 4x12's but there is still an issue even with the 2x12. It gets plenty of good sounds, not all the models are that true to the originals but that isn't such a big deal to me, they are in the ballpark. The amp seems to model inital attack, sag, etc. pretty well but it doesn't follow through as a note sustains. It kills any bloom a note may have which is a little weird, like things are all a bit to compressed maybe. Mid range and high end sounds are pretty good but the bottom end is fairly week. Even on Soldano and Rectifier settings you just can't get the "chunk". I honestly think if I played in a Tom Petty tribute band I found a great amp but for my punked up Angus meets Joe Perry at a Cheap trick concert it really doesn't work for me. I still have to try something like a Tube Screamer up front and see if that changes the dynamic at all but so far the Vox Valvetronix stuff kills it.

Hmm, if I can swing it, I might pick up the F-50.
I have a Carvin Legacy head and cab which I'm happy with also. I think if I bought the F-50 I may have to sell my Crate tube combo, and that thing just sings! I don't know if it'd be worth it. Those V-series amps are totally overlooked and underestimated.

I LOVE my F-50. I posted a detailed review over on HC (F-50 combo).
It's got an incredible clean channel that rivals any Fender I've heard, and can do a wide variety of sounds on the gain channels, from classic rock all the way to "nu-metal". Very responsive to picking dynamics. Best tube amp I've ever owned.
Unfortunately, I'm finding it too loud for my new townhouse. My neighbors are not real happy about it
It sounds better than most tube amps at low volumes (that I'm familiar with), but it still needs to push some air, which at my old place was not an issue....so make sure if you go that route , you'll be able to get that Master Volume up.
So...it prolly will have to go.... It's just not practical

Yeah I might hang onto it. I think I'd regret selling it. I got it for $385 nearly half off at GC during their green tag sale. I recently put a Celestion vintage 30 in it also. It's unbelieavable how good this amp sounds now.

I've been eyeing these a bit...as a tube amp in the 10-20 watt range would prolly be doable for me. However I don't want a "fender" sound like a Blues Junior...more Marshall or MESA sounding.
Are they closed backs? and if not do they have an extension cab jack? (I really dont care for open backs)

BINGO...that's the key to my line 6 patches on my PODxt/atomic amp combo about 90% of them have a tubescreamer in front of them and it makes the sound that much more "real" for lack of a better term. i don't know if your L6 amp has a built in tubescreamer but if it does turn that sucker on and start tweaking...if not, stick a real tubescreamer in front of the amp and it should help a bunch.

open back, but they have an extension cab plug. It's definately marshall sounding. I'd have to say it has more gain though and the clean channel is far better.
They've made a 30 watt head version new for this year.
