Amp Thump?

My pro junior makes a soft thump/poping noise at a fairly regular interval when its turned on.. no noticable tone difference... i'm guessing that a capacitor is discharging incorrectly. How do i diagnose/fix the capacitor?

This could also be because of crappy wiring/power surges in your house. The house that I moved into about 2 years ago is terrible for this . . . every time someone turns on a bathroom fan or any appliance that draws a lot of current my amp thumps.

You can get power conditions on ebay for reasonable $$. I think I scored my Furman for 65.00
