it's hard to find the amp with the most gain. there are plenty of amps with more than you'll ever need. of these the engl se, mesa rectifiers, and bogner uberschall come to mind.

the diezel vh4 is pretty brutal.

I've never heard anything with bigger, tighter, and more toneful super high gain than
The Bogner Ecstasy, Uberschall, Diezel V4, Herbert, Engl Powerball and Fireball,
and Soldano SLO 100. There's only so much gain that can be had before it's past the point of infinite sustain, into infinite sludge. Most of these amps are at the point of infinite sustain with the gain on 7.

Any of the amps mentioned have more gain than you'll ever need! Period! The most aggresssive and nuttsiest of them though... Uberschall!

Joneser hit it fairly well.....the rest is just compression and extrabee-swarm buzz....that will not deliver much tonewise.
It is more a question of how you cut the signal up and how the eq works, most amps are based on fender and Marshall crunch taken a few steps beyond.
And the reason is that the fit into a band sound with ease if used right.
That fat midrange is just the sound......different mousetraps but works form a sound proven basis.
