Ok in everyones honest opinion, did i just get suckered or did I get a steal. I just bought an approximately 10 year old Ampeg reverberocket R212R for $325. It is a 9/10 in the condition its in (or so i'm told, haven't seen it yet cause I got it through craigslist) and it has two 12 inch speakers putting out 50w tube. What do you think its, cause I mean its tube but is it a good/quality tube

Re: Ampeg reverberocket

I think you got a good price. And if you like it a lot, it's well worth it.....

Re: Ampeg reverberocket

I have one and it sounds awesome. A lot of studio guys keep these around as secret weapons. The overdrive when you jack the clean channel is totally awesome.

Mine has been modded to have a speaker output so I plug it into a 4x12 once in a while. Works great on the bigger gigs.

Is yours a 6L6 or EL34 version? I have the EL34.

Re: Ampeg reverberocket

I was going to buy one for 600, it was in really good shape and stuff. You got a good deal.

Re: Ampeg reverberocket

Those were real 'sleeper amps' because not everyone knew about them, but those who owned them loved them. I think they beat tons of Fender amps, because Ampegs have a really great pushed clean/OD sound.

$325 for a 2-12 model is a steal. I would have bought it too, if I saw it.

Re: Ampeg reverberocket

My old singer/lead guitarist had one. it sounded GREAT. it kept blowing output trannies so he got himself a Mesa F-50.

Re: Ampeg reverberocket

Great deal. I often use an older, 1x12 el34 reissue and it's a cool amp. They have a unique brightness to them that's a cool variation on the fender thing.
