Amp's Reverb distorting....

I have a 2019 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV in tweed. It's a fantastic amp save for one thing. A few months ago, the reverb started doing this distortion thing. The more reverb I use, the more distorted it gets. Anyone have any thoughts as to what this might be?

Have you tried replacing the tube to see if that makes any difference?

Bear in mind I have absolutely no idea about amp repair...but it would be something I'd test before going any further... I'm assuming the HRD has tube driven reverb here.

No tube reverb. Reverb is op amp in the Hot Rod series.

my Carvin Belair had a similar problem
it was not so much the tube for the reverb
but a crack in the solder joint of a tube socket
the vibration of the reverb may be just a symptom

I would remove the pan
touch the tip of the soldering iron to each connection for the tube sockets

worst case is you have good socket connections and that isnt it

The reverb is op amp, not tube driven.

Doesn't matter

Saw your response earlier

Read my post

Should have read more carefully, apologies. I will check the solder joints.

Do you have another reverb pan to test with it?

I don't.....

Honestly, it's not a huge issue. I like the reverb and would like to use it, but it gives me cause to have to buy something like a Hall of Fame pedal or something.

True, or a new reverb pan, which would be cheaper.

I wouldn't think it would be the tank itself. More likely the chip that's driving it, or running it's output. Hard to say without taking some measurements.

tanks are made like crap these days, but distortion would most likely come from somewhere else in the circuit.

If the distortion increases as you turn the knob, the knob is the first place I would look.

As much as I love my H&K Edition Blue 60, (made in Vietnam), the reverb tank looks like it was made from an old tuna can, held in place with rubber bands.

The distortion is in synch with the springs, which makes me think it is the tank. I would unplug the tank to see if the reverb distortion persists.

Awesome tone and picking BTW.

LOL, thanks for the compliment on my noodling. I'll give that a try.
