Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

I ain't falling for the "Scameron" either! Read far too many horror stories.......

A friend of mine has the #13 Atomica. I will say that it’s a great sounding amp. But like you said....all the stories of people getting ripped off by him. It’s sad, really.

Randall Satan but with 3 channels, switchable to 25 watts, noise gate and midi switching capability

How does it compare to your Rockerverb? I understand the Crush is a quarter of the RV's price, but I'm curious anyway.
Thanks!

I prefer the rockerverb more, the crunch channel is a little bit more to my liking. The CR120 is honestly really close to the rockerverb in most everything. It is really hard to tell in a blind test that the CR120 is not a tube amp, but it still sounds a little bit solid-statey. That said, it is the best solid state amp I have ever played, bar-none. Rockerverb is a fantastic workhorse of an amp. The CR120 is a great substitute if you don't have the money for a Rockerverb.

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

I would want a Soldano Decatone with the power section of the HR 25 and the clean channel of the Lucky 13.

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

I am thinking maybe a a 5 channel switchable preamp: 1.Blackface clean 2.Tweed 3.Dumble 4.Mesa Boogie 5.Marshall-into a power amp section that can utilize a pair of 6V6, EL34, 6L6/5881 and 6550. Series or parallel effects loop, pentode/triode switch, built-in power attenuation.

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

I've always wanted a point-to-point wired, high quality component, Peavey Classic 30 (I suppose a Classic 50 would be more realistic) with power scaling options & built around four 6V6's instead of four EL84's...

Of course for the cost of having someone build me something like that for me I could probably get a half dozen actual Classic 30's which are great as is (especially the older 90's versions) & I'm not entirely sure how the gain channel would be affected by the change in valves?

Out of all the beautiful, iconic, & rather pricey boutique valve amp's that I own or have owned over the years those inexpensive workhorses have always had a special place in my heart. My Classic 30 & Classic 20MH get more use than the rest do combined!!!

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

I want a modeller as good as a Kemper, without the need for the profiling bit, as a combo for under $1k. USB and headphone out with customizable IRs. Built-in speaker and power amp loud enough to keep up with a drummer but good at TV volume as well.

That's all I want. I wouldn't need anything else then. I feel like we're a few years away still.

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

A Dumble Overdrive Special...a closet queen that some kind soul sells me for $1,000.

A modern, four-channel Duncan Convertible...that is reliable.

A Fender Princeton Reverb-sized amp with a 12" speaker and a cascade-gain second channel with smooth creamy overdrive and a built-in EQ for maximum tone shaping. Oh wait...that's a Mesa II-C+. Sorry. ;)

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

I'd also love it if my Tweaker 15 had Resonance/Presence controls to suit different cabs a bit better, an FX loop that didn't distort analog pedals due to being stupid hot, and a footswitch for a gain boost.

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

I'd love a Peavey Wiggy that sounded as cool as it looked :laugh2:

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

Something along the lines of a foot-switchable three channel 'lunchbox' head?

Channel 1: champ style
Channel 2: princeton reverb style
Channel 3: gain channel based on a splawn quickrod

:-D

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

JCM800 front end screwed to a Deluxe Reverb power section, with just a tad more primary filtering. In a 1x12 package with a Vintage 30. Optional 1x12 extension, either a Creamback or a Lynchback. Built in Two Notes Captor for DI-ability.

I like that idea so much, I plan on building it in the coming months.

Re: Amps that don't exist but you want one anyways.

A Stiletto/Triple Crown version of the Road King from Mesa. Combine all of their pseudo-British amps (Stiletto, Dyne, Royal, TC) into one four channel monster with the power tube and cab switching of the Road King, except with four EL34s and two 6L6s. And make it and the Recto Road King midi switchable for a tap-dance free stereo rig.
Technically you can get the tap dance free part with an Amp Gizmo. :)
