An HSH Guitar without all the fluff

I've been gassing for an HSH configuration but can't seem to find something to my liking. Every one I find has 50 some frets and Floyd. The only thing that comes close to what I want is a Fender Player series. Are there any more choices?

Any swimming pool or HSH routed strat + new pickguard

AFAIK all mexican strats have HSH routs (routes?), and American strats, at least the 90s ones, were "swimming pools"... so were old Japanese Charvel Model-series strats with pickguards

More recent MIM that I’ve seen have been a wide HSS (although that may be different now) and MIA have been HSH. Routing a bit more for HSH is not that bad either.

If a Strat is what you want, it’s a quick and easy process to get there plus you get to select your pickups.

If you don't mind paying for a Suhr or Anderson, you shouldn't have much of a problem.

These are great guitars, but 24 frets, which will change the sound of the neck pickup (not for the better IMO).

I find that the neck pickup gains a little more clarity. I don't tend to like neck pickups because they sound muddy to my ears, and this one is great

Y
Ibanez makes them

True. I have an early 2000s Ibanez S Series that is a HSH...it's a good guitar but I really don't like how the stock the pick ups sound on mine.

Depending on how it sounds with your other gear, might want to upgrade them if you get one of these.

Hard to find an HSH with standard 22 frets and not a Floyd type. When I was searching recently for budget-friendly HSH or HSS (also keep in mind SSS can easily become HSH or HHH), these are a couple more affordable ones I was looking at.

Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 HSH $799
EVH Standard HH $549
Ibanez GRX70QA GIO RX $199
Ibanez RG470MB $399 (has a Floyd-type however)
Ibanez S670QM $599
Yamaha Pacifica PAC212QM $585
Yamaha Pacifica PAC612VIIFM $649

there are some older Yamaha Pacificas that had 22 fret and standard strat bridges with HSH
my Mexican Stratocaster is HSH in the route, just needs the right pickguard. Was only $399 when I bought it. Easy to mod.

Cort?

What is your budget?

I'm sure the cheaper the guitar, the more likely is a swimming pool or HSH route, for reasons of economy of scale.

Ernie Ball Silhouette. Excellent guitars, HSH, hardtail or trem.

...Was my first thought too, but I didn't mention it as they are 24 fret.

Umm... guys... I'm kinda poor...

The first step is to set the budget and not go over it. It is really easy to justify to yourself that spending a little more will get you a better guitar, but stick to that budget. What is it? Because all the suggestions in the world won't help if it is out of your range
