Analog delay under 100$

Hi I'm looking for new analog delay. I want one for more like The Police stuff and everywhere when I'll need of course. I'm spending up to about 100$. EHX and TC worth checking ?

Re: Analog delay under 100$

yes. except neither pedal is analog. They are both digital emulators.
if you want real analog, the cheapest option is MXR carbon copy, or going up in price you would be looking at the EH memory man.

Re: Analog delay under 100$

Ok but that's fine, can't afford MXR so I'm going with something like that. Let's say just the best delay under 100...

Re: Analog delay under 100$

Carbon Copy can be had used for under 100. So can EHX memory toy which basically has the same exact options but different tone. I got mine from a forum bro for like 75 and love it. Both are analog.

Re: Analog delay under 100$

The EHX Memory Boy is analog and under 100 bucks I believe. Did a shootout with the Deluxe version vs the Supa Puss and it sounded pretty good to my ears. Liked the Supa Puss better personally. For your budget though, you can´t go wrong with the Memory Boy.

Re: Analog delay under 100$

Can find an Ibanez AD-9 under 100 if patient.

However…MUST it be analog or just sound good? Think about a Modtone Analog Delay

Re: Analog delay under 100$

Just throwing it out there. I think there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with digital delays.

There isn't unless you're looking for the tone of an analog delay. But digital delays are perfectly fine and some people prefer them.

Head to your local GC. Carbon Copies are usually there used.

Re: Analog delay under 100$

How much would a pre-owned Catalinbread Echorec cost yez?

BOSS does a Twin Pedal recreation of their venerable Space Echo. Again, pre-owned might be within budget.

Both of these products are digital emulations of multi-playback head analogue echo devices. They should provide the correct vibe - right down to the wow and flutter.

Re: Analog delay under 100$

Catalinbread pedals will be hard to find for a bill or less. They really hold thier value used. I looked for quite some time for a used Belle Epoch. New they run $200, and I never saw them used under $150. The Echorec and Roland Space Echo cost even more, so probably a tough score for a bill or less.

I had a memory toy, the delay was wonderful but in my rig it added an enormous amount of presence whenever I switched it on. Very strange. Not sure if they are all like that or it was just an issue with the rest of my rig.

Carbon Copy is absolutely fantastic, and I have one that is like new I would let go for $100. 2 months after I bought the CC, I had a stroke of good fortune and I was able to snag the Belle Epoch, which I had been GASing for a year plus. Otherwise I would still be using the CC.

That's totally true -- it adds its own color to the tone. I like how it alters my tone in my rig, though I do have two delay pedals so I only use it when I want that flavor. Actually, come to think of it, didn't I buy that pedal from you? Lol. If so I guess we still can't be certain whether they're all like that. I notice it boosts my signal a tiny bit as well. To my ears that extra presence gives it a richer sound whereas the CC is more neutral.

Re: Analog delay under 100$

Oh yeah I forgot. Tone City has been getting a lot of hype for their little pedals, and sure enough they have an analog delay with true bypass.

It is very minimalistic, but at 65 bucks NEW and taking up as little space as it does, it's definitely worth considering. Haven't tried it, but there are a few demos on youtube you could check out.

Its range is 25-600 ms and is based on the mad professor.

Artec Analog Delay or the Moen Pretty Dolly for $50-60 or so...both sound great for not much money.

Definitely worth a shot. Plus with the money you can save on one of those, you could buy beer.
