John -

That's beautiful. Is that a Fender body? Did you have it finished, or is that how you bought it?

I'll be joining the "blue strat" club soon enough. I just got my raw ash body in the mail today....and I'll send it out before long to get finished. I should have it back sometime in early September!

Thanks buddy....This is an actual alder Highway 1 strat body in saphire blue..I got just the body off e bay and had an early 80s neck...I gathered up all of the other parts from different sources over the internet also..Lew sold me the Surfer ANtiquities and the covers....

that looks great, makes me wish i had a maple neck on my blue strat. tell us how you like the sound

Re: And Here's My Finished Blue Strat! Check it out

Very nice! Blue is one of those colors you're not sure about, but when you have a blue guitar, it just looks so nice strapped on......like a good pair of blue jeans.

Since you've had both the Antiquity Texas Hots AND Surfers...you'll have to tell us which you prefer, after you have some time on the new Surfers.

YES YES you do!! You have to describe to us in very much detail preferably! how the surfers differ from the A2 ants... I have my red highway 1 strat that i bought in 2002 with A2 ants - and i love it. Gets me through those SRV tunes, jazz all-nighters, bluesy crunch, Joe Satriani backing tracks, and just about anything else i get thrown at me. Is that guitar bright sounding with the surfers?

I will definitely build me a monster warmoth srv strat after I get the Heritage Paul costs out of the way... That strat will have a fat baseball bat neck with pau ferro fingerboard, 6100 fretwire, Surfers, reverse headstock and some good tremolo... Should turn out nicely. Probably going to get it in transparent blue too.

I love the way that guitar looks by the way. When I got my highway 1 on ebay I almost got the blue one, but got outbid at the last second - so I just went for the other one the seller had - the red one. Keep that finish waxed up btw, because it WILL start coming off ! :) :burnout:

thanks, you actually answered a question for me with those pics! ..."how does a pearl guard look on the blue highway one strat?" and, well, i say it's time to get me a pearl guard :D

The pictures I took suck..In person the guard looks gorgeous on the blue body....I'm really happy with the outcome of the guitar as a whole...
