I don't have next-door neighbors, but there are a few houses visible from mine. I've not had anyone knock and say anything about my sound levels, which is a good thing for them, because they certainly don't want me to put it back on them when they're revving the engines they've been tinkering with or listening to their new car stereos which I can hear clearly even when I'm indoors. Since I work nights, their lawn mowers and noisy mufflers on their musclehead cars interfere with my sleep, so I see nothing wrong with cranking a 100w head at 2am.
