And nothing came out!!!

Just back from a long week end in France, I was eager to play a few chords.

I plugged my LC15R and tuned my guitar while the amps were getting warm. Plugged the guitar in the amp and absolutely nothing happen. Checked all the knobs and cables. Turn it on and off again... Then check on the rear and while most of the valves were lighting up slowly, the pahse splitter lamp staid inert. So I figured I should change the valve.

But then I took a look @ the manual. They say that a no output issue is usually a fuse issue! Then why the valve didn't lite up?

Any amp guru to shed some light on my problem?

The manual just says "fuse" because that's the only thing a normal person can change. A non-funtioning phase inverter tube would certainly cause no output, too.

Is it really not lighting up? Sometimes the heaters in certain tubes are hard to see from some angles. Double check it. If it's really not lit, mark it as the "suspect" tube and then swap it around with the other 12AX7s that are probably in the amp. See if the "no-light-up" problem moves with the tube or stays with the socket.

Nonetheless, I am quite new to the tube world... Is it complecated to change one. I've seen they have metal wires retaining them. Is it just a question of untieing the wire and pulling the valve or is there more to it?

The wires are just little spring clips to keep them from falling out. Just swing them sideways off the tube. The clips stay attached at the tube socket. Then just pull out the tube.
