I bought a set of Antiquity P-90s with the intent of mounting them in my Edwards E-LP-92SD/P Gold top. It's a Les Paul bodied guitar for the record. I've owned quite a few Edwards and have swapped many a pickup out in them
(they actually come with SD from the factory).
But I digress...
The guitar came with SP90-1 (b&n) so I *assumed* that a swap to the Ants would be just a drop 'em in and wire 'em up proposition. The problem is the Ants are so much thinner than the SP90 pups and while the neck mounted just fine, the bridge pup has to be mounted so high, it's just about out of the body of the guitar.
Is this normal? Is there a fix for this (spacers, baseplate, etc.). I'm open to suggestions!
Thanks!
Steve
P.S. They are EXACTLY the tone I was looking for. Seymour knows his stuff. I've never had an Antiquity I didn't like.
