I just got finished wiring a Telecaster Deluxe I am building with the Jimmy Page wiring as posted on the Seymour Duncan Wiring Diagram link under support. I have read many of the threads here and am losing my mind with different versions of this wiring. Given the fact that I used the Seymour Duncan schematic for this wiring I have several questions and I hope someone might be able to help me.
1. Since I followed that diagram exactly, what else do I have to add to make it work. Everyone has been talking about it not being properly grounded? Do I need to route a single wire throughout the guitar patching in a wire from each pot, the three-way, and the jacks, Bridges also?)? Or what? If I do have to route a ground wire throughout, where do I ground it to? I have not shielded. I have used a bridge ground as indicated in the diagram. The only thing that looks to me like it is not explained is the one solder point on the bridge volume pot and it indicates that is the earth ground so I figure I might just need to run a ground from there to get it grounded. I am definetlt very confused about this grounding issue.
2. Is there any need to use shielded wire for the long wires that run from the 3-way to the pots and the input jack? What gauge wire is recommedned? What about ground wires if needed from question 1?
3. I wired off of the schematic as pictured but was somewhat confused about the actual orientation of the bottom six pins of the push-push pot I am using. As long as I consistently followed the same orientation will I be alright? For instance if I actually inverted them all as long as they are all inverted will it do anything to prevent it from working?
Thanks for your help.
