Another one gone, and another one gone, another one bites the dust...

I have six guitars right now:
1 2004 les paul standard
2 1990 les paul standard
3 2008 Vgs eruption pro with active pickups
4 evh wolfgang special
5 ibanez az224f
6 prs se custom 24 with roasted maple neck and fretboard
And a ibanez bass on its way to home. Taking aside the space a need to store them, I need to admit I struggle to manage them. Sometimes I don't play some of them for days. So what is the advantage to have many of them if you don't have time for them. But I guess the question isn't how many I have, but how long I can't buy a new one.

Don't have time for them? BS. There are 7 days a week, you have 6 guitars.

The advantage? Six different tones because different guitars and different pickups, and you can go a looooong time without having to change strings. Grab the next guitar.

This week already I have played 5 different guitars!

Hard to believe eh, but it's true. To get work I need to drive for more than one hour. This means I leave home at 7.30 am and get back around 8 pm (Monday - Friday). Home duties, wife, fatigue, it's quite impossible to have quality time with the guitars during the working day. During the weekend I try to save a bit of time. If I hit one hour with a guitar in my hand, it's a success story. I know my life is hard :17:

I could never drive more than 15 minutes to get to work. I leave my house at 5:45, get home at about 2:15, and cause problems on purpose until roughly 10

I currently have 8 electrics, 2 acoustics and a Jazz bass.
The most I’ve had is probably the same, though I think this really might be the max.

2 Gibson Les Pauls
2 Strat builds
2 Junior builds (SG Jr and LP Jr DC)
1988 Kramer Baretta
1992 Peavey Predator (lives at cover band rehearsal space)
2004 Martin D-28
Jasmine acoustic
Fender Player Series Jazz bass

The minimum:
1 Strat (old Franky)
1 Les Paul (Trad Pro)
1 Junior (Probably the LP Jr DC)
1 acoustic (the Martin for sure)
1 bass

The Kramer is one I can’t part with and I don’t count it against the minimum tally because I never play it anymore. It has a very cool NYC paint job on it. I’ve not seen another Kline like it though he told me he did more. The Knapp NYC is the closest I’ve seen to it. Our oldest is getting it when she’s out of school and has her own place.

Wow, you sold Jenna. Let me guess, not the wife's favorite? LOL

She did not have a problem with it.

I just rarely played her, compared to my Jackson WWII V with a Floyd. At home, or on stage. The WWII is a better player too. Plus the graphic was cracking under the finish. How many King V's do I need anyway (Don't answer that!)?

Haha, don't forget the one that's in the basement covered in cobweb.. we all have those... Right..?

That would be my Yamaha Attitude PJ 4 string. It hasn't been played in maybe 15 years and it's been accidentally spattered with paint more recently than it's had strings on.

The cobwebs in my basement are a whole thing.

This thread has me thinking about thinning some things out. Maybe an amp or two. There are a ton of stomps I do not think I will touch now that I have my H9/H90. Lots of booteek and vintage stuff. The MoogerFooger alone is going for $1800 on Reverb. Also the Fender M80 hasn't been touched in quite a while and probably less now that I have the AC30

Well, good for you! I hope that whomever next comes into possession of them gets a great deal of enjoyment from them.
Right now I have seven playable guitars and two playable basses. Not going to get rid of any of them, but they all get played fairly often..That being said, not getting anything new either. Unless maybe an acoustic because I don't have one.
