This is one of those one's that was hard to keep real neat and clear. Just be careful, and make sure you don't get any wires crossed. ;)

Let me know if any part of this isn't clear.

Artie

Artie is that a 3 or 5 way switch.

It can be either. A 3-way lever and a 5-way lever are identical as far as contacts go. Its only the width of the contact blade and the detent mechanism that are different.

You wire them the same.

For the functionality that you want, you'ld use a 5-way.

Re: Another wiring question

Cool. How does it sound?

And . . . just out of curiousity . . . what tripped you up 3 times? :laugh2:

You don't have to tell us, but it might be "educational" for others.

Re: Another wiring question

It took 3 attempts to get it right because i tried to do it when i had my grandsons staying for a few days,so i was getting hassle all the time(they made me make mistakes)thats my excuse anyway.Next time i want to do some wiring i'll lock myself away.

Re: Another wiring question

As one who has six grandchildren, I understand completely. ;)

btw - I'll have to remember that excuse. :laugh2:
