I’ve test driven many Caddies from different eras and countries of origin but the only ones that really spoke to me were the Czechs. That thin body makes them by far the comfiest for a little fat man.

I still have one but unfortunately, I’ve been off forums so long and am so lazy I can’t be bothered to try logging into photobucket lol

OK. Mentor corrected me again. If I can get a Pink Cadillac (not czech), 2 pickups will be fine. Looking for used. . .had a lesson on too much lacquer = less tone.

Besides getting stuck in the middle.

Faber Tone Lock ABR-1, CTS pots, 50s wiring, WAIT!!! I remember the pickups. A2 498T/A5 490R.

It’s actually got quite a nice quilt in better light.

Here’s an older pic of the same guitar with different pups and in better light, for sure. The Czechs are absolutely on par with the USAs as far as build quality and finish, however, the electronics and pickups were nothing to brag about. I also seem to remember every one I owned had ROUGH cut nuts from the factory.

For me, the 3rd pickup just gets in the way, much like adding a 2nd girl to the mix. It looks really good sitting right there in the middle, and it might even sound good, but you can't hit em' both at the same time anyway. So I'd just rather choose neck or bridge and do a better job on just one.

Plus I always catch my pick on the middle pickup. And for those of you who know, it's NO fun to catch your pick on the 2nd girl if you were aiming at the other one. Messes up the rhythm...........

I pick right between the two pickups. Just like being right between two girls. That additional pickup, or girl, just adds so much more variety to the mix. I find that when both of them are on, it is the sweetest rhythm tone for rocking hard.

Maybe that's just me.
