Thinking about getting one for my HSS Fender Strat. Any comments/opinions would be appreciated, thanks.
I use mine in an alder/maple strat with a 250K pot and it takes the dryness/brittleness out of the sound, just makes it big and fat sounding.
Also, will i need a regular or F spaced SD for my Strat?
if your strat has a floyd rose and the humbucker slot if not slanted.....then yes
If you have the vintage style 6 point bridge and not the newer 2 point, the F spaced variant will line up better.
I'd go F-Spaced even with the newer 2-point trem. The poles line up perfectly with it. Definitely go F-Spaced.
With a 250k volume pot, it's great. Splits well and is the only humbucker that I can actually say I like the sound of in parallel.
Originally I had 250K in there then changed to 500K which sounded better. Your SC's will be brighter, but nothing your tone control can't take care of.This was going to be my next question.........is it ok to use the stock 250K pots that are in my Strat with the SD?
I would say 250 for me just since strats are quite bright on their own, but the super is also a darker pickup so it's basically personal preference
