Any experience with Line 6 Spider III HD 75??

I had to play through this amp on band rehearsal today. With a 4x12 Line 6 matching cab.

I couldn't get one sound I liked! Crunch channel, Metal channel, more mids, less gain, whatever I did didn't work. It just sounded buzzy and tiny and raspy and annoying all the time. My other guitar player was with his RG1550 (yeah... same as me, except I'm not using the Ibanez) with a Breed on bridge and he struggled with his tone too.

Is there something I missed about this amp? It sounded very plastic and lifeless, no matter what I did. Or maybe the cab is bad? I don't know. I do know that I spent most of those 2 hours trying to sound good. Couldn't do it.

I think I'll ask the room with the Marshall VS100 amps next time. At least I could plug and get a usable tone right away from those.

Sounds about right for the Spider 3.

I did WAY better with the Spider Valve, or with a Pod direct to a PA.

I have a spider II HD150 , the presets are all crap! but it dont have the 300 or 400 the III has , I find some really good tones from tweaking the metal green channel and also from the metal red channel, but u really have to fine tune it , the amp wont "breathe" like I want it to unless I run my metal planet pedal infront of the clean or blues channel.I also use a large bass 2x12 cab loaded with emenence legend modeler speakers.its great for practice , but when I play out I go with my tubeworks rig.

This is part of why I got a Roland Cube - BHAM! The sound was just there in seconds...
