Any idea how this will sound ?

So, the Bassman LTD is on top of my short list (...at this point in time)


Does any one know/want to predict how this will sound :


LP -->*Sole Pressure stompbox -->Bassman LTD

As you can see, this pedals is voiced to sound like a Bassman 4x10.



Any ideas folks ?

It will sound like you spent a extra $149 to make a Bassman sound like itself.:smack: Seriously,Put your money into some more versatile stomp boxes.

If I were you, my Bassman rig would go like this:

LP-Visual Sound Jeckyl & Hyde-Bassman.

A great sounding rig that can get every basic sound from jazz to hard rock.

Man . . . the one stompbox that i do not like !!!


The only reason(s) for me to dislike them, is :

The clips that i hear did not impress me at all :no:

The STROKES (that Hommond guy) use one w. his Hot Rod DeVille, and i REALLY do not like the tone of either Stokes guitarists - that get a double, 'no-no' :no: :no:

If i have to run a dirt-box, i would probably turn my attention to a 80's RAT, or if i think i'll do some Stoner Rock (for an agro out-let) i'll like the idea of an Expandora - hell, Billy Gibbons use SIX of 'em all switched on. So one in my chain might add something nice . . . i hope !


ANY OTHER PEDAL IDEAS VERY WELCOME . . .

(PS : i am not a toobscreeeemer fan - i have a TS9Ri, but have not used it in 3 months)

Don't judge what gear can do by what the Strokes do with it. To me, they're the poster boys for making decent gear sound like ass.

Then again, if you don't like the TS series pedals, I can see why you wouldn't like the VS overdrive pedals.

If you want another fuzz flavor, the Rat would do it, as would the Big Muff. I wouldn't use them myself, simply from a versatility standpoint.

If you want to give your amp some hotter sounds without a TS or a fuzz, look at the Twin Tube Classsic, Matchless Hot Box, Soldano GTO, Mesa Bottle Rocket, or EH English Muff'n.

Les Pual + Plexitone pedal + bassman = good hard rock tone (IMO)

i think it would sound fine. the pedal layout that i thought worked best was a sd pup booster into my superfuzz. i set the amp kinda clean, used the pup booster to push it for crunch and hit the fuzz to go over the top.

An OCD will get you more chunk with a LP. Make sure you go to the store with your guitar and crank up a bassman with it. Sometimes 10 inch speakers don't handle Gibson lows as good as you'd want, so hear it for yourself before you buy.

you can have it modded to take out that mid spike that TS9's are notorious for as well as have it maintain the low end which it also stereotypically loses. More gain is also an added option in the mods and a more useful tone knob. Basically it's all those things that people love about a TS9, minus all the bad things. I had one modded, it got stolen, as soon as I end up with a break in my playing, I'm having my TS9 I have now modded again. It's a great thing
